Lazyitis

Just a quick post this morning before I head out. I’ve been ridiculously busy over the last few weeks, and things have been complicated by my eldest having something that resembles whooping cough. It’s been causing her to vomit anything that she eats due to the violent coughing, and it’s possible that she’s cracked a rib in the process. We can’t get a doctor’s appointment - even an “e-consultation”, as they seem to be snapped up by swathes of people between 8 am and 8.01 am every day. It’s meant a layer of complication on top of managing my time at work. Anyway - I digress.

The point is, I’m rushed off my feet seven days a week. I get up at 6 am and work, work, work before trying to lower my heart rate by crashing into bed to replenish for the next day. I was sent a job which involved photographing a student HMO in Jesmond, Newcastle on Monday. The landlord’s agent was available between 9.30 and 2.30 to accommodate my visit, so I let them know I could get there on Tuesday at 9.30.

Later on Monday, I received an email advising me that the students therein weren’t prepared to get up to be ready for that unreasonable time. I was forced to change the appointment to Wednesday (today) at 12.30.

If the situation is that a bunch of middle-class children are allowed to dictate terms to the working world, then we’re all f****d. I’m fine with a bit of a moan, but this bunch of lazy gits have got my heckles up. When I get there, I can guarantee the state of the rooms and will report back to confirm my suspicions.

Check back later.

Post Edit:

As confirmed, the place was a total tip - 9 bedrooms of various sizes in pretty rotten states of appearance. I never understand why people want these properties shot as they are without first speaking to the tenants to explain the situation and perhaps make a visit to help tidy up? Never mind - back on the road.
